Are the ingredients traceable?
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on the provenance of our ingredients and on being able to promise you the very freshest and highest quality raw materials in our chocolates. We only use reputable suppliers, who have met all the quality standards demanded by their industries. We demand comprehensive ingredient specifications from each and every supplier, and we check each and every delivery against its spec. We go to great lengths to ensure that we know where every ingredient originated, and where it is at every stage in its journey to our workshop. Our chocolates simply wouldn’t taste so good if we failed to trace our ingredients properly.

How do you make your chocolates?
With love, care and attention to detail is the short answer! The slightly longer answer is that our chocolates are handmade in our workshop, each one crafted to achieve the best possible texture and taste. The chocolate goes through several processes: mixing, cooling, cutting, ‘standing’, enrobing, decorating and tempering. Each process is overseen by our chocolatiers to ensure that the chocolate is correctly handled at every stage in the process.

Are your chocolates 70% and what does that mean?
Some of our chocolates are comprised of 70% cocoa solids, although not all. In chocolate-making, 70% has become a ‘magic number’ of sorts, denoting a chocolate that is very high in cocoa solids and is therefore classed as ‘fine’ chocolate. Some of our single origin chocolates, such as Tanzanie or Sao Thome, are a minimum of 70% cocoa solids.

How are the chocolates presented?
Danucci chocolate boxes are a stylish confection of red and black box and lettering, with the distinctive Danucci logo. Inside nestle 25 (250g) perfectly delicious chocolates, protected by a cushion layer. We take great care with the presentation because we know it makes the difference between a gift, and a really great gift. You can choose to present your chocolate box with gift-wrapping, or with a special gift card for that personal touch.
