Chocolate as the Stuff of Childhood Dreams

We all grew up with the chocolate fantasy, mainly thanks to Roald Dahl’s outrageous vision in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We dreamed of rivers of chocolate, lollipop trees with chocolate drops hanging from every branch, chocolate toadstools, chocolate rain bouncing off chocolate umbrellas, houses made from chocolate sweets – a world of chocolate where we could munch to our heart’s content. Such is the power of chocolate – even in popular culture it has attained an iconic status not matched by any other food.
